Fwd: Arkansas

Have been talking with Stephen Spicer offline (he had the virus problem)
and he had the following to say about the Rally location. Sounds like the
Fayetteville area is looking pretty good - good roads and a good dealer too.

Text from Stephen Spicer :

>I think the Fayetteville area would be really good for a Rally. I went to
>school there. If you decide to come through Little Rock (from Florida, I
>assume) on Interstate 40 make sure when you get to Ozark (on I-40) to get
>off the interstate and get on highway 23. It goes to Eureka Springs, but you
>can get to Fayetteville from highway 23 by getting on to highway 16.
>
>If you decide not to take highway 23 then stay on I-40 until you get to
>Alma. From there, you'll have to head north on highway 71 to Fayetteville or
>I-540 to Fayetteville. I-540 is a new highway and a lot faster. Highway 71
>is more twisty and will probably have many fewer cars. It's one and two
>lane. Both highways go through the Boston Mountains. But if you have the
>time, take highway 23 from Ozark, very twisty and not a lot of traffic.
>
>>From Fayetteville you might want to go to Blanchard Springs (near Mountain
>View) on highway 9(?). It's pretty good. You could also go to Eureka Springs
>but Eureka Springs is kind of touristy and there may to a lot of slow
>traffic especially on weekends.
>
>Really, there are a lot of good motorcycle roads in the Fayetteville area.
>
>I bought my bike from the dealer in Fayetteville. Motorcycles International
>(www.motorcyclesintl.com). They put out a news letter, and I know they
>organize rides. They can probably give you better, more detailed information
>on good roads.
