And while you are in there, you might want to have a look at the small
one way check valve in the tank vent hose.  Mine was installed backwards
and completely blocking the tank vent.  Could this have been causing
some of my fuel gauge problems?   I did notice previously that sometimes
after filling the tank that the gauge would not come off empty until I
left the tank cap open with the ignition on.  Anyone have a working
knowledge of how the gauge sending unit works?  I need to put more miles
on the bike to decide how much this has effected the gauge but first
indications are good.  Has anyone else experienced a tank vent problem?

My fuel lines were OK.
