Re: 5,500 on BT57's



I run em till they pop!  Well, not really.  When the the thing is essentially a slick, I'll do burnouts till they pop.  I don't like the handling charactoristics of slicks in rain, and I might as well have fun with the short lived tire anyway.  I got about 2900 miles on the ST now and still have a ways to go.  I have started to employ more rear tire saving strategy to my riding...less compression braking, using a lot more front brake, accelerating harder on turns (less squaring), and a little more right wrist discipline on straight roads.

I wonder if that isn't part of the difference in tire life reports. For
me, I change out my tires when the wear bars show (sometiems even a bit
sooner). If I let them go untill the cords are exposed I might get more
miles before replacement, but with the tire effectively bald in the
range I actually use it in.
