will look into other materials like you mention. I am also keeping an eye

the gap between the top of the fairing and the frame rails...any ideas?

How about the cylindrical black stiff foam insulation sold for inulating
household hot water pipes? I comes in different sizes, for 1/2" and 3/4"
pipe, in about 6' lengths, is inexpensive, should be heat reistant, but
perhaps is not bendable enough. I am planning to try it, and will report to
the list. Dave Collins, San Diego
