Re: That damned position light

.....that once I was riding with
my wife and the engine died, so I just let the clutch out again, and the
rear tire skidded a LOT. I had to pull in the clutch and use the starter
button.

I have found (the hard way) that push starting a large displacement bike is doable. When I had my 1200cc Harley, I had to push start it a couple of times, and yes the rear wheel locked up. To get the engine turning I had to get it in motion, have the bike in Second, stand on the pegs, and literally drop myself onto the seat (as far back as practical) when letting the clutch out...it worked!! and I weigh about 165 #. I know that it is not the most fun thing to do, but it may be a good idea to practice this maneuver (while no one is watching of course) so that it will be easy when you have to do it in front of an audiance when the bike really will not start on its own!

>>>I added a small timing circuit to the position light circuit that sets of a
small buzzer for about two seconds. This happens when I turn on the
ignition, and if I turn the key past LOCK to the position light position.

This sounds like a good idea...Hint Hint Triumph!!!
