My plan is to cut off the rubber covered toe piece; drill a hole in the
center; then either tap and fasten to the remainder of the lever or run a
small bolt through the entire thing depending on what I think is the best
idea at that point. I'll take a photo and scan it if it turns out to be
something worth doing.
