Re: Body work repair

First off, welcome to you Ludo. Your presence on this list gives me a feel
for the international flair of our sport and a point of contact should I
ever ride in your land. Likewise if you ever come over here.

Does anybody know what product to use to make a permanent repair to the
plastic fairing material on our bikes? I have a blue y2ST and managed to
break one of the tabs on the bottom right hand front fairing that the
little matte black fillet piece (that funnels air to the radiator I
presume) screws to. Be careful in re securing that fillet piece to the
fairing as the tab breaks off the fairing real easy if you overtighten the
screw. The tab that broke off of the fairing holds a metal female piece
that the screw that holds the fillet piece to the fairing screws into. Does
that make sense?
Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, I'm thinking of becoming a professional 3M material installer
after doing such a slick job gluing the templates that Eric provided us
with onto the wear points on the bike. His instructions were superb and
after experimenting with the first piece and managing to not be able to get
a couple of bubbles out from underneath the surface of the 3M material, the
rest of the templates went on very nicely. The key for me was to put the
slick material"glove" over the blueapplication paddle and to spray the
wetting solution liberally on my hands, the metal and the pieces I was
gluing.

Thanks for any help you might provide,

Bert
