thanks for all the tips about fuel gauges, refuelling etc.
went down to Jack Lilley's today
ironically, they didn't have any loose fairing screws in stock -
as no-one has needed one before (I just noticed one had fallen
out!)
I asked about gauges, and they told me that in about four weeks'
time, all new owners who bought from them should be notified
about the production of new gauges that will then be fitted on a
rota system.
Seems that Triumph put the fault down to a piece of faulty
solder on the sensor arm or something, which gets caught on the
side of the tank and then mis-indicates until filled up again.
Not sure if I got that right, but the explanation is secondary!
