Hi Dan,
I tried this at first, and the 'top pizza box' seemed to affect the handling about 120kph quite signficantly.  It also made a big difference to turn-in speed and really spoiled the corners.  Conversely, the Triumph side panniers blend in with the bike, and some reckon even improve the looks - even weighted they help lower the CoG and do not affect high-speed handling or turn-in speed adversely.  I am really happy with them and will NEVER use my top rack and Givi box again unless I absolutely have no choice.
If you get the sports pipe it is 3" shorter and looks fine in the lower position without the boxes on.

RevPack Tour Pack behind me, which will fit my tent..... while still having
the topcase for extra storage.
