What do you mean by joining seam ?
The bands would seem to be where I guess the change from hard to soft
compound would occur.

The seam goes across the tread and overlaps at a small angle. I don't know
how they get it to stick together but I have seen tyres start to seperate
there. I haven't seen anything like you describe. Maybe you got a defective
one?
