Bath time

I decided to take a long soak in a leisurely bath, which proved
an ideal opportunity to speed-read the manual that came with the
ST - well, the handy one produced by Triumph, that is.
One thing that fascinated me that begs more explanation is the
power take-off on the side of the bike for electrical apparatus.
is this where you're supposed to plug in the girlfriend's
hair-drier? Or the Black and Decker portable for on-the-spot
repairs?
Or maybe it's for something useful like a cigarette lighter,
personal stereo, intercom system or suchlike.
Anyone used it?
