Patrick,
I'm not sure how you found out about this, but I guess now that the cat's
out of the bag so to speak, I can elaborate.
I have been working with the fine folks at IGLOO Products Corp out of
Houston TX for quite some time now. Using their current DC powered Hot /
Cold carry box as a model we have made some modifications to the stock ST
panniers. The panniers have now been made fully water tight and even with
the addition of the heating and cooling elements, the bags can still carry
approximately 24litres each.
Each bag has its own set of controls, so you can keep one pannier hot and
one pannier cold. The heat is sufficient for "Crock Pot" style cooking -
Imagine the convenience of being able to toss a roast, some mixed
vegetables, and some broth in one pannier and beer and soft drinks in the
other. Take off on a nice little jaunt and be able to stop along the way
for a nice home cooked meal! Can't think of anything better ......
Look for them soon in a Triumph dealership in your area.....

BTW, we have also been working with Panasonic Consumer Products Division on
microwave unit that would fit within the confines of the top box, but as of
yet we have not been able to solve the current draw problem on the ST's
electrical system.
