RE: boring tyre (or tire) thread

I did too notice a little slippage/wobble on my rear. I attributed it to
wear and replaced it with a Dunlop. No more problems.

		Dear hi-mileagers....
have now done about 6000km on the original BT57's and notice
the back one is slipping and sliding with little provocation on rather warm
roads (hit 31C on Sat. in south Germany).
Is anyone else noticing severe problems with grip, feedback
and also ride quality with the BT57's after only 3000 miles?

Considering replacing them before 8000km (after next weekend
trip), and the following seemed worth looking at:
Dunlop D205 - some positive comments from other ST listers,
I seem to remember?
Pirelli Dragon GTS - new, sport tourer version; any
comments?
Michelin Hi-Sport: tired these on the T509 and was very
happy.
Metzeler MEZ4 - good reviews on other bikes, and from
friends.

Does anyone know if any of these are likely to be
'homologated' for use on German / Euro bikes this year? Some of these may
have already been 'qualified' - has anyone asked their tyre dealer which
tyres are allowed (Germany has very stupid and tight restrictions on what is
acceptable/legal, but of course by the time the bi-annual test comes round
most practical tyres have been qualified for use in any case!).

		cheers
		Jonathan
