Jonathan, I had the same exact damage on my original bt 57. Thinking back, I really couldn't recall how that could have happened. Not being a tire expert, I didn't look at it from the stand point of being a manufacuring deffect. When a shaft fails in a pump or peice of machinery, we look for clues, fretting, beaching, etc. Why I didn't look at it with the frame of mind that I usually do is beyond me. I guess I was just grateful that it didn't let go at speed. I'm going to try and retrieve the old tire and start asking questions. Best regards, Steve.
