Alarm cost

I'm getting the alarm made for the Sprint ST, and I just found from the
dealer that it is about $440US.  I understand too that previous alarms
from Triumph were about 25% less than this one.  Does anyone know why this
one is so expensive?  Were the others also manufactured by Datatool?
