2-seater Sprint ST in Germany

Just got a call from Triumph-Deutschland and they pointed out that in section #33 of the vehicle reg. document it states " if rear footrests are fitted and no seat cowl, then this bike can be ridden with a pillion" - apparently this is the best way to register two-seater bikes that can be fitted with a seat-cowl (at least in Germany!).
So, just goes to prove that your average motor insurance agent can't even read a vehicle registration document (at least in German).
