Speedo, Odo, and Horses

Hey Folks, Got my new speedo transducer Fri. and seems to work fine
(thanks to those who posted RPM vs. Speed) which kept me safe and sane
for over 900 mi.without the convenience of a working speedo. To remind
you mine froze up at 700 mi. I really feel sorry for the dealers trying
to do their best for the customers and being stymied by Triumph. They
are truly frustrated! i.e. getting the bags and such for us. They did
manage to get my centerstand after a few weeks, makes chain lubing &
cleaning a breeze. Still waiting for the panniers however, and I'm doing
a rally to the Kern river in just a few weeks (don't want Sable looking
like a Jed Clampett mobile!)
As far as horses go, saw 1 out of the corner of my eye heading toward
the road at a high rate of speed, and noticed there were no fences, (I'm
travelling with a 150 lb.+ passenger @ 85mph) left foot begins kicking
down gears, right hand and foot begin braking duties (I mean really
clamping on them) my forehead was into the windscreen, body against
tank, pillion helmet into mine. I swear to God I've never stopped from
that speed so fast in my entire life!! What great f'ing brakes this
Jewel has! Horse came onto the road, snorted at us then took off the way
it came, WEIRD! Need some Invincasheild, 'cuz I'm already wearing out
the paint on the tank and side panels!
Regards, Jim
