Collected and fitted the Triumph 'sports exhaust' yesterday. Less than 10 mins to fit (two bolts - be careful the one on the rear peg is a 'tight' 12mm; dont use a 13mm!). As someone else pointed out, it is 2-3" shorter than the stock pipe, which improves the look with the pannier bags fitted (the pipes are 'dropped', via a bracket off the pillion peg, to allow the hard bags to be fitted - the pipe then extends past the rear wheel too far).
The sound is a deep, soft growl; hardly louder in town that the stock pipe, but makes a lovely howl above 5000 revs. It is much quieter than the equivalent CF race can on the T509/595/955i series (I had the low level one). At least the one delivered here (Aluminium wrap) has no 'stamp' to indicate that it is a non-road legal can. It has a huge 'Triumph' badge on the outside also. I would be surprised if the bike didn't pass straight through the road certification (TuV) test with this pipe on - it is extremely inoffensive, to the point where anyone looking for a 'loud' race can would be best advised to try a different brand.
Just guessing from 'hand weighing' the original, it saves about 2-4kg in weight as well.
