Rally & New Service Bulletin?

Hi!

Well, I have been checking out hotels for two time periods for the Rally
during the requested late August / early September timeframe. Eric and
I believe that it would be best for people to try to arrive on a
Thursday so we can ride fairly unobstructed on Friday, then on Saturday,
and head home on Sunday. The dates I have been checking out have been
August 26-29 and September 9-12. It appears that the September time
will be hard to accomplish because there is a classic car show in Eureka
Spring that weekend and several of the hotels I have contacted are
already full that weekend. I could try the next weekend, September
16-19, but I know that right off the bat that we would loose 3 riders
that weekend over the August weekend (Eric, John Westcott, and James
Lock) and I don't know that the hotels will be any more available
because there is a Jazz festival being held in Eureka Springs that
weekend. Bottom line is that I believe the August dates will fit best
with most people I have received information from. UNLESS I here from
most people that the August date is unacceptable, I will go with the
August date. PLEASE RESPOND WITH ANY COMMENTS BY SUNDAY EVENING!! Right
now, The Best Western Swiss Holiday Resort is looking very good
(location, facilities). I am checking to see what their "group" rates
are and how many people we need to qualify. The initial rate range they
gave me is as follows (don't know if it's group discount or not; I'm
checking):

Standard room two double beds.
Thursday- $59.00 Friday- $69.00 Saturday- $69.00
Two queen beds.
Thursday- $65.00 Friday- $75.00 Saturday- $75.00
One king bed.
Thursday- $69.00 Friday- $79.00 Saturday- $79.00.

I am also checking into the other Best Western in town.

Now, for the SERVICE BULLETIN. I went to pick up my Little Red One
after having her bolts replaced. By the way, they were all in
place--none in the sump pan as they said they had found with another
ST. They said that there was a new service bulletin that just came out
about the coolant lines and clamps. They said they looked at mine and
tightened them, but because I was preoccupied, I did not get any
details. We were in the process of loading my precious one into the
back of Richard's Red F-150. BTW, their ramp is simply a 2x6 with a
metal extension at the top. Initially, it was just me and one guy
trying to put her in. I had visions of her falling on her beautiful red
side!! Anyway, once we got her in and I got her safely tied down, I
went back in to ask details, but they were "swamped". In any case, I
thought the List would want to know so we could put our collective ear
to the ground and find out what is going on.

BTW, I used to think that I would want to trailer my bike for long
distance trips. Not any more!! Driving just 30-35 miles, viewing her
in my rearview mirror, was nerveracking!! I knew that if something
happened, I couldn't save her. Best to be on her to protect her ;-)!!

Happy riding this weekend. I will be out of town, without bike :-(,
until Sunday afternoon. I'll respond to any Rally e-mail at that time.

..Lisa
