Lance,
I've fitted a product called a tail skirt to my TL and to my Bandit
before that. It's a very neat product that eliminates the rear guard,
seals the entire undertray of the bike and provides mounts for license
plate and signals. It looks really trick with mini carbon signals with
dark lenses and really emphasises the width of the back tyre! A little
nifty work with the dremel is required but it just requires a bit of
care and thought to get an excellent finish. They're usually available
from M&P (www.MandP.com) although they don't have one listed yet for
the ST in the catalog I have.
I'm just not sure how this will work with the under seat pipes. ie: if
the entire undertray is sealed where do the pipes route? That's why
I'd like to know how the black widow system fits before planning to
chop up the rear guard. I'm sure a bit of thought will allow the use
of both products together. There just has to be a way to give her a
sexy rear :-)
This is what I've been reduced to... planning major mods before the
bike has even arrived.
Martin

Martin,
I couldn't agree with you more about the rear guard and turn signals. I've
been eyeing the setup ever since I got the bike and have been imaging how I'm
going to fabricate some sort of sheet metal bracket from under the tail to
suspend the license plate and the turn signals ----- my Dremel is just
itching to get at that black plastic fender and trim it away.
