Boot wear

Is it just me or are others experiencing exaggerated boot wear on the inside 
heal area from the pant leg protector wings (my name for them) just aft of 
the footpegs.  They seem to be protruding further away from bike than 
necessary and limit my ankle action and their rough surface abrades the heal 
area of my admittedly soft Bates boots.  Would/Could those rather fine IMO 
looking protectors be adapted from the T-595 range?
