same fault.

I looked at the schematic and the gauge and light run off different
circuits of the ECM. I am only guessing as I can't see what is happening
internally, but I would make the assumption that they are driven
independently.

and I think you will find that they will continue to stand behind
everything.... that's why I haven't been sweating the small stuff like the
gauge. 

In the meantime, just enjoy all the other positive points....
