Re: new lister

Pete. Here's some info I sent to another lister. I'll be in the bay area
over thanksgiving if you want to talk. 505-751-1215 home in Taos,
415-584-1734 in SFO from about 11/21 - 29.

Bert
Bill. I'm responding off line because I gave this info before. I bought my
2000 at Apex Sports in Colorado Springs, paid $10665 plus $35 dealer
handling, no dealer prep charges (probably included in the $100 above list
price as I understand the 2000 list price to be $10595). Paid $135
installation to put on Triumph tank bag, Throttlemeister, heated grips,
rear rack and factory racing pipe. Paid $357 for trunk assy, $635 for
saddlebags, both of which I will install myself, but after looking at the
jig saw puzzle of parts, I would probably pay them $90 - $135, as quoted,
to have them installed, if I did it again. Throttlemeister was $124, grips
$140, racing can was $238, tank protector $32, tank bag $127, pad $36.
Totaled out to be $12651. $1000 deposit held it since it was the first one
they got on the floor.

The deal felt fair, though not ass kickin' great. I was handled well, the
bike is wonderful, though I had some minor problems with a shorting heated
grip since the space given through the bars to route the wires is teeny and
routing must be done right the first time.

I do NOT like the stock Bridgestone tires, BT 57's. They fall into turns,
do not inspire confidence at all and break away all of a sudden when
hangin' it out in a turn. I will run them 'til worn and put something else
on (see endless debate on line on tires).

Anything else? Email me if needed. Or call @ 505-751-1215. Best to you,

bb
