radar detector

G'day All
Thanks for the responses to where you can hide a detector and sorry for not responding sooner, I've been away for a quick holiday. Whilst away I've been checking out some tank bags for hiding the detector. My questions today is. 1/ Does the Valentine 1 work inside the map pocket or do you velcro it to the top? 2/ Do the police (particularly in Australia) have any way of knowing if you have a detector on board? I heard somewhere that they have detector detectors.
