Since these engines pull hard right to the limiter, shifting by "feel"
usually results in hitting the limiter

    Do a lot of people find this?  I think the Sprint ST is the first bike
I've owned on which I've never hit the rev limiter - by the time I've
reached the red line it just feels natural to change up.

    When I got my Super III tuned (Dynojet Stage 1) the tuner commented that
the power kept on building right up to the red line.  He told me that with
that old 885cc lump you could raise the rev limit a couple of thousand rpm
to get more power, "but then the crank snaps" ;-)
