Well, sometimes I really like them and other times I do not..... there -
how's that ?
I called them yesterday (in Daytona) to see about getting some pictures of
it on my bike.
After explaining about the list, they immediately became more
responsive.... well, they were for a minute anyway. Their first comment was
that there were a couple of pictures up on their website. I then soured his
attitude by saying "yes, but that was the prototype and the picture does
not give a close up view of the areas where I personally have experienced
problems with corbin's fit." I then commented that we had several people on
the fence (myself included) about going with a Corbin or sending the seat
to Sargent. I went on to say that it would be in their best interest with
respect to sales of the seat if they allowed a closer examination of the
seat, otherwise people might just go to Sargent.
His immediate response was "Well that's fine because Sargent just makes
crap anyway, so they'll spend their money there and then come back to us in
the end". Nice attitude ..... needless to say our conversation went
downhill from there. He went on to say how their quality continues to
improve. When I pointed out that I had experienced just the opposite, he
said that I must have just received an end of run seat. He went on to say
that California (the factory) typically will use a mold longer than it was
designed for and the seats at the end of the life will not fit as well. Is
this guy in sales ? I guess that means you better buy your ST seat sooner
rather than later.
Anyway, I asked if they had a seat and they said "no". I asked when they
would get one and he said "I can't really be sure". I asked if they would
call me and he said "you just need to keep calling us".
That Sargent is looking better every day .......
