RE: Ohlins Shock Info



Sounds like we could have a comparison test!! I'm waiting for an answer from
them on availability. I offered to take my bike up if they need it. Last
time they varied in price from $800 to about $1,200. I would agree with you
on the remote adjuster, very nice feature and Penske will certainly not
offer that. Will probably even lose the ability to adjust as easily as I
currently can. The only consolation there is that with the last one, I put
it on, and NEVER touched the preload. They have a shock dyno, and they use
it for each shock. I don't know how you can even come close to getting it
right any other way. I think it's pretty tough for the ordinary run of the
mill owner (me) to have any hope of setting up a complex shock. I'm sure
Ohlins can do a good job also, but I have wasted money on other supposedly
"custom" shocks that were obviously off the shelf.
