The answer is: YES, they will each hold a full face helmet plus some other soft stuff in 
front and behind the helmet when closed. The bags are excellent...even waterproof! I 
have never had a leak with my bags whether on a Trophy or Sprint Executive.
They are one of the most well designed and built panniers available anywhere.
