This is something very much of interest to us as well. Let me know what
you find out.

I haven't seen anything affordable (J&M isn't affordable!) that I like
yet. There is the issue of the band (49MHz, 900MHz, FRS) but also the
speaker and esp. the microphone. I've heard that some good (i.e.
expensive) units are still usable above 50mph but many of the lesser
priced alternatives aren't.

Of course this is all 2nd hand info at best.

Ideally we'd like to find a decent microphone and speakers (boom mike
for Willemina's 3/4 helmet) that plug into one of the FRS radios (the
prices are REALLY dropping on these!) so off the bikes at someplace like
Busch Gardens we can still stay in touch.

We have a pair of Cobra MicroTalk2 FRS radios that we bought to use when we
are skiing. I ordered one of the ear-bud/mic setups from Cobra to try out.
I wear a full-face helmet so would prefer something that didn't need a boom
mike. Will report on how the setup works once it comes in.

Traci has had her bike for about 9 months, she really likes the way it
rides. I dont think it will be real good for long rides, over 500 miles in
a day. She likes to ride it to work, allows her to use the HOV lane.
