Re: RE: RE: So y'all just had to talk about batteries

By "totalling" one and getting to keep it, and by having the insurance company buy you a new bike. I said two bikes because from what it sounds, the old bike could be made to run again, but not made back to original condition (minus a bit of the fairing, etc.), or the old bike could be sold off in pieces thus making enough money off of it to buy a new bike. "Total" means total loss, and that is what the policy holder must accept in order to be awarded full compensation for the loss. Or better yet, keep wrecking motorcycles and you will have a whole garage full of them....sounds lucrative! Buy insurance on jewelry, throw the jewelry out in the street and have trucks run over it. File a total loss claim and keep the mangled jewelry for melt value.....it cannot work that way. Insurance companies try to discourage fraud. What is sad is that they could probably make more money off of parts, provided that they wanted to spend the time, than it would cost to buy a new bike.

David,
If they are totaling the bike because the repair of it costs more
than buying a new bike how will you be able to have two bike for the price
of one?

Martin
