RE: And another wounded ST.....

Msg to Paul Master:

Hey Paul

It wasn't me that went down, but rather Brian (whom I believe you met at Doc
Wong's last clinic). Brian (and his ST) were both covered in road dust
afterward, which made the damage look all the more dramatic, but the bike
was rideable and Paul had all limbs and digits still intact.

But thanks for the well-wishes anyway!

Msg to Steve Lawler:

With regard to your accident in NYC, first let me offer my condolences. I
had an accident very much like yours in '92, a panel van turned right, no
signal, from a stop light just as I was sneaking past on the right side.
The bad news is I was cited as "at fault" as I was passing on the right (at
about 5 mph) between the right-most lane of "traffic" and the parked cars.
In CA, lane sharing is legal, but only in the center between two parallel
lanes, not on the right next to the parked cars. Or so I was told at the
time by my insurance company. Glad to hear you also walked away. I am now
extremely cautious when I pull up to an intersection if there is any other
vehicle present. Until such time as I make eye-contact with each driver
present, I assume I am invisible to them (and even then....).

Seems like the last few weeks has been rough on us listers and our beloved
rides. Let's hope we're done crashing and sliding and dropping for awhile!

May your next ride be a peaceful one!
