12 K Service Price!!!! My Fault?

Howdy,
 I went in to my dealer (Lone Star) in Austin TX. to get scheduled for a 12
K service on my RED ST.  They had a new BLUE ST they had just pulled out of
the crate and it was beautiful (IMO).  We came to a deal and I rode the new
Blue ST home ;at 3,500 rpm ;(.
So in effect my 12K service was a good one as my ST is now really like new
and everything is wonderful except for the same old fuel gauge problem.  I
filled up and 20 miles later the gauge read empty and the light came on,
then 10 miles later it was at 3/4 tank.....  I will just unplug this one as
I did my old one and use the odometer as I have for the last XX years.
 So, with the new blue bike, new blue saddlebags, heated grips and rear
rack, I probably had the most expensive 12K service yet.
 But I am very happy with it.  I am up to 500 miles now as I only had one
day to ride this weekend after I rode home Saturday.

 BTW - I was right the Blue ST with the stock muffler is MUCH faster than
the red or black, and the cops never look my way....... (yet).
