RE: steering damper

Fighting a tankslapper (i.e., trying to overcome the head-shake through
force) is usually a losing battle. I tried this once on my Honda CB1000 and
was unceremoniously flung off at 65 mph by my otherwise faithful steed. I
could swear I heard it laughing at my foolishness as I flew through the air.

I have since learned that light steering inputs to the bars vastly improve
handling at speed, at least for me. Now I use mostly my feet and knees to
steer.

But that's me. Best of fortune on finding a solution that works for you!
