I just had this one this morning while coming through the parking lot at work.
The difference is that once it hit neutral it would not go into 1st. So, I up
shifted back into 2nd for the rest of the distance to the bike parking and then
it shifted down with out problem.

In general I can not get it to drop into neutral from 1st. I have to pop it up
to second and then down into neutral when the bike is stopped.

One could always dispense with using the clutch all together, once under what
:). I don't do it on a regular basis, but have noted that it does shift quite
well up and down with out the clutch. Just back off the throttle a bit and it
drops right into the next gear with out much more effort than with the clutch.
Not the best idea if you plan on keeping the bike for a while.
