headlights, is there an easier way?

List brethren -

I'm working out the kinks in my new ST, am LOVING it by the way - just hit
the 300 mile mark yesterday, I kinda like 6000 rpm!

Anyways, the headlights are great but are aimed too low.... is there any
way to get around taking all the fairing off to adjust them? My mechanic
said he'd do it when I bring it in for the 500 mile service but I'd like to
be able to get it done before then. The owner's handbook is of no use, all
it says is to remove the cockpit but gives no instruction as to how to do
it. I figure while I'm in there I'll replace the bulbs with PIAA
superwhites too.

I've gone ahead and ordered the seat cowl and the 2-piece luggage set. I
think the handlebars will be fine left as stock, but the grips have got to
go. I love the quiet zzzzzzsh of the engine and stock exhaust, will leave
that alone for now. Am thinking of someday having the bike painted with
gold pinstripes on the black paint, kind of in the John Player Special vein.
