Re: How reliable is a Triumph?

Justen,
The ST is a very reliable bike in that it won't leave you stranded on
the side of the road.  It seems that most of the problems are irritants
more than anything that would cause the bike to be unusable.  As Eric
mentioned most of these irritants are being taken care of at this time
and everything should be fine for Y2K bikes.  The only thing of which I
know that has caused someone to be unable to ride is a dead battery
which was traced to corrosion at the terminals.  I would have no fear of
taking my ST a long distance and having it break down.  I don't believe
the maintenance costs are any higher than any other bike, but I do think
that is very important to follow the service intervals specified in the
owners manual as I have found this to be true with all of my european
vehicles.
