My '99 has ~3500 miles on it and all 4 of my sidestand bolts were loose (3
on the bracket and one for the sidestand itself).
Glad I checked 'em otherwise soon I would have been down to only three :)

Subject: Loose fittings
I just finished an inspection on my ST. Found a few loose things
including sidestand mounting bolt (very loose!), hero blobs and fairing
fittings. I attribute this to the bike being relatively new (3 weeks
old with 1800mi/2900km) and I hope I won't find many (or any) loose
fittings in future. Even my BMW R100RS remained tight and I think the
boxer vibrated a bit more than the ST.
Note to Eric - I found a rock shard in my rear tire (very small). It
didn't make it to the carcass plies. :-)
