Well, after getting Flash back after a 2 week plus stay at the dealers, I
was horribly upset that the cooling system was still leaking, although the
fuel leak now appears to be history.
When I asked the dealer to order another radiator (it was leaking just under
both top mounting bolts, left and right) the service manager said he wanted
to see it first. He checked the records, and this bike had a new radiator at
both 900 and 1200 miles (this was their demo, and I got it with 1500 miles
on the clock). I told him this was a major inconvenience, so he said he
would contact Triumph. When he talked to Triumph, they said to order a
radiator and ALL mounting hardware. They have seen a couple of cases (read
about on this list) where bikes seemed to be eating radiators. The theory is
that either something went missing in the mounting hardware, or some part
got tweaked somehow. This puts undue stress on the radiator, and with normal
vibration, it begins to leak again. In all previous cases, replacing all the
mounting hardware has sorted the problem. So my fingers are crossed, and now
all I have to do is wait for the parts. I think the bike is rideable, so at
least I have my wheels.
