Re: Seats
Keep in mind I am new to the list so I might be going over old ground here.
Anyway, regarding the seat discussion, has anyone tried Air Rider? I had
an Air Rider installation in the saddle of the BMW cruiser I had before I
traded for the ST. Although I did not get a lot of miles on it prior to
the trade, I can tell you that the times I did use it there certainly was a
change in the stess on the pressure points. All you have to do is inflate
prior to the ride and, as you require, depress a valve installed in the
seat and a little air is released thereby changing the pressure points.
Done properly, I would guess you could make changes 3-5 times prior to
reinflating. Cost was $179 plus freight. Bad part is you have to send
your seat in to get for the installation. Turnaround was about 1 week.
Not having taken a real close look at the ST seat I don't know if there is
enough padding to be removed to install the air bladder.
About the battery discussion, anyone putting theirs on a trickle charger on
a regular basis?
BTW, on a 150+ mile trip today the overheating problem returned. When I
got back home I removed the left side panel and checked the radiator.
Again, no coolant was visible. I replaced the coolant (I guess a quart or
so), replaced the panel and went for a fairly aggressive 50 mile ride. The
gauge barely moved off of the C. Upon return the cooling fan didn't even
come on. Guess I will have to again take it to the dealer for them to
determine why it keep losing coolant.
