triumph tank bag

I was out installing my tank bag this morning, and, while it's
installed now, it looks slightly dorky. I'm wondering if I used the
appropriate attachment points.
If someone has a tank bag installed that doesn't look dorky,
could you attempt to describe around what points on the bike you looped
the straps for the base?
Dork example: There is a bit of a wrinkle on the rear flap,
since I looped the straps around the catch for the nose of the seat.
They seem like they want to go around something a little more off to
the sides of the back of the tank, but I didn't see anything there.
