The V1 has a dedicated Hard Wire power unit. The best way to wire it
in is through/ on a circuit that is switched, like the rear running
light. The accessory plug is always "on".

PS: I have my V1 on the rear running light circuit works fine. Take
a look at Valentines web site they show all of the parts.
