Front Fender Extension

I purchased the front fender extension thinking that it might help keep =
a bit more of the junk that flys off the front wheel from lodging in my =
oil cooler and radiator, but I see that you are supposed to drill holes =
in the fender and use four plastic pop rivets (supplied) to secure it.

I don't really like the prospect of drilling the fender, but I can't =
imagine any kind of glue being up to the job.  Does anyone have any =
better ideas?
