RE: New Post & Video's

It means that I'm getting it repainted this month..."Steel Blue." It's a
BMW (car) color. I choose it because it's still blue (the ST color I
originally wanted) but a light blue with silver/grey so it will hide
scratches easy. I took the black ST because it was the only color I90
Motorsports could get their hands on. But after my first 100 mile ride, the
paint on the tank and sides (from my knees)was all scuffed. That's the only
thing I don't like about the Sprint so far. I just sold a 92 ST1100 I put
70,000 miles on and it didn't have a scratch on it anywhere as no part of my
body touched painted surfaces. It looks like I'll have to 3M the whole damn
bike to keep it from getting badly scratched over the next 50,000+ miles.

Turns out too, it was a good thing I decided to wait till after racetrack
day to have it painted. That evening I noticed the very lower fairing on the
right side had touched down. It may have been in the first half hour around
the track when I immediately discovered that despite the front preload being
two lines up from its stock setting, the ST was wallowing in the dips and
corners. I had to preload it as far as I could front and back to get it
stiff enough to handle decently.

Send me your snail mail off list and I'll pop a video in the mail to you.
