Mine lasted 8 months.  I had to pay £30 which was half the cost of a new one. 
 I would have had to pay the whole price but I insisted I hadn't been told 
the battery warranty was only 6months, not 12 months when I spoke to Hinckley 
Warranty dept.
The only way to keep a sprint battery good is to keep it topped up regularly 
if you don't use the bike within a week.  The single gel cells don't keep 
well.  Ann
