New Fuel Sender

Just wondering if my new and improved fuel gauge sender is like 
everyone else's. Fill up and it reads full for the first 120 miles. 
After that moves to 3/4 then pretty quickly to half then on to red 
zone . Low fuel light comes on at about 175 miles. Ride it to about 
185 fill up bike takes 4.85 gallons. I believe that the tank is what 
5.5 gallons??  So I'm assuming that I've got about a gallon when the 
light comes on.. or about 40 miles to empty.
