ST break-in period

Would someone please offer advice on Triumph's rev recommendations for the 
first 1,000 miles.  I am up to 250 miles on my new blue 2000 ST and have 
been sooooooo good not to rev much higher than the Triumph recommendations, 
although keeping the bike below 4,000 (3,500 as per Triumph!) just about 
killed me for the first 100 miles.  My salesman at the dealer yesterday said 
he does not pay attention to those limitations.  I have felt freer to run up 
to about 6,000 for short bursts, (hit 100 mph on abeautiful stretch last 
night!) but want to take care of "India Flyer" in the best way possible.  
Love this bike!  How about advice from some of you who have ALL experienced 
this?

How does "Grateful DAWG" sound?  (Bay area guy, love the Dead)
