Ah,

The ol' "my oil pan is too big to sit directly under the drain plug"
dilemma.   Me Too!!!!    I took a plastic litre soft drink container, cut
off the top funnel end, cut it to length, which then allowed me to angle the
draining oil into my oil pain which was about 1" out of line with the
draining oil.  Belly pan does not have to be removed.  Picked up oil filter
socket at Pep Boys for $5-6  (mine has a "G" stamped in it and is a perfect
fit for a Triumph filter).
