Clutch Slip

Hello All,
I've just returned from the Phillip Island round of the World Supers. Had a
great time but on the return journey my 99ST,s clutch started to slip. The
adjustment was correct and it appears to be worn plates. The bike is 9
months old with 16000 kms on the clock. This seems to be a very short time
to have clutch failure. Today is a Holiday in Australia, so I've had no
chance to get the bike to a dealer.
Has anyone else on the list had clutch problems, if so was there a reason
and was it easy to repair.
750 kms with no acceleration was frustrating.
Thanx in advance.
Andy
