RE: Temerature sensitive....soft rubber



It is my understanding, that race tires actually take longer to warm up that
street tires, due to the fact race tires need to withstand higher ranges of
temperatures than street tires. The normal street rider, because of traffic
lights and such, needs a tire that is sticker from the get-go. Thus,
ironically, sport-touring tires require LESS time to warm up to optimum
operating temperatures than their sportier counterparts. This is why the
sportier the tire, the more its traction will be affected by the ambiant
temperature.
