I heard the at bigger pain was the retention spring on the kickstand.
What one guy would do, while it was deployed and the spring stretched
out, is place washer between the coils of the spring. Then when you
retracted the kickstand the spring would pinch down on the washers and
not fully recoil. There by having a slack spring to get off the
retention post and back on.
